The iTero™ system captures the contours of your teeth and gums, delivering a detailed, digital orthodontic scan in just minutes. This non-invasive procedure is ideal for those undergoing Invisalign or clear aligner treatments. Best of all, it eliminates the messy, unpleasant putty traditionally used in dental impressions.
How iTero Works
The iTero™ handheld wand captures a 3D image of your teeth as it moves gently over the surfaces. It’s non-invasive, allowing you to breathe and swallow normally during the procedure. The wand’s accuracy is exceptional, making the need for retakes extremely rare. Plus, you’ll be able to view the 3D image on the screen in real time as the orthodontist works!
Unlike traditional impressions that are sent to a lab for scanning, the digital image from your scan is sent directly to the lab and available in the Invisalign Clincheck system the very next day. This digital 3D model can be used with all Invisalign services, including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, which lets you preview your potential smile after treatment.
