I started my orthodontic journey a little over a year ago, not long after my child. At my recent visit (2026) I mentioned to Dr. Ortega that my canines were bothering me because they were tilted inward. Honestly, she couldn’t really tell there was an issue and was a little hesitant, but she still listened carefully and said, “Let’s see how it goes.” She did note she was concerned about potential spacing, but the relief I feel already has been completely worth it.

It’s only been about a week, but I’ve already noticed a huge difference. For a long time, I would wake up with jaw pain and strain—partly because my jaw tends to clench at night, and I think my inward-pointing canines were getting in the way of my teeth settling comfortably. Now that my canines are adjusting outward, I don’t feel that pain anymore, and I’ve noticed my jaw clenching much less.

Dr. Ortega’s patience, knowledge, and understanding mean so much. She always listens, even when I focus on the smallest details, and I feel confident and cared for every step of the way.
